It amounts to 2.5-3x his annual earnings, and it is still $11-13MM, an amount that you wouldn't turn down.
No. Actually I would. Its scary that so many people here cant wrap their brains around this. I guess thats why Louisiana is still a caste system. How does one even spend that much money? My family takes in between $50-80k as a household and I can barely find a way to spend all our money. Im happy and have everything I need.
If Ive made millions over the course of my career a few million more isnt going to make or break me. My reputation would be much more important to me. He still has to go about his private life. Go to the grocery store and shite. He still has to face the public and hear his name in the press from time to time.
Anybody who has retired in shame will tell you that they would gladly trade much of their wealth to have their reputation back and be able to walk around with their head up and have people speak fondly of them. You cant take your wealth with you beyond your grave. When youre an old, frail man all you have left is a sense of self shaped by the way those around you feel about your time here on this earth. Those miserable old cooks you see mumbling incoherently to themselves are the ones that have lived a shitty life, stepping on people on their way to the top. The good ones still can laugh and love in old age.
