Collective Effort

Collective effort lacking loses games to inferior opponents the same way collective effort beats superior opponents. I have not wanted to admit this until the loss was fully absorbed but this was a collective loss. I think we all inherently want to blame a single thing or individual, it's human nature. Bama crushed USC with that group effort, Houston same in their game. I have been struggling to remember a game where we looked like a total unit. The results just make me sick but the seeming process makes me even sicker. I have firmly come to believe that the process and preparation that this coaching staff uses leading up to games does not breed any confidence other than the confidence that the players themselves have in their own inherent ability. That's where the mistakes, hesitation, overall lack of execution come from. So, some is on the coaches, some on the individuals who fail to execute. It's even more frustrating as the game moves along when a player is looking at themselves going "wow, we are better than these guys and still getting beat". That's when they start pressing to make the big play or be a hero. ALL good players on good teams around the country have that same ability belief, ours just aren't able to fully buy in to what is taught and preached to them, hence the lack of development. A great leader doesn't want to make you just like they are, they want to make you the best you can be with what YOU bring to the table. We don't have that great leader now, and these young men suffer for it as do we fans. All rant aside, I hope the administration can eventually handle this situation with more dignity and class than they did the end of last season. God bless LSU and its passionate fan base. We put so much effort into what we love and we just want to see that same effort in return........
