Drew gives us the best opportunity to win in the next 4 years. Free agency can change a team. Carolina went from 7-8-1 (I believe, kind of drunk) to 15-1 in one fricking season

If we get rid of drew without an immediate starter (see Indy and Andrew luck) we are going the Cleveland route......think about the free agency and draft similarities

The Panthers also have a GM who knows what he's doing. Listen, I'm not gonna be upset if Drew stays, the man is a first ballot hall of famer and he does give us the best shot to win. However, it doesn't change the fact that the majority of our roster is average at best. The Eagles just got a 1st and 4th round pick for Sam Bradford, so I know damn well we could still get two 1sts and more for Drew which would help this process go a lot smoother. Finally, we may not have an immediate starter now but the 2017 QB Class is absolutely loaded so there's our starter.

What teams could take on his contract?

Bradford brought a $7 million cap hit in the trade. They would have had to get creative to get Brees to fit as they are currently negative with the way things stand.

2 teams could take on his contract: SF and the Browns. If we're willing to trade him, that also means he's likely a free agent too.
