India came agonizingly close to winning the match and lost the match on the last ball of the match. They needed 8 runs of the last 6 balls and 2 runs of the last ball to win, but the batsman (India captain) got out instead. So India lost by 1 run in a match in which 489 runs were scored.
It was a great match for the spectators though between two very good teams. West Indies batted first and scored a mammoth 245 runs in 120 balls (par score in this format of the game is between 140-160). India managed 244 in their chase and came up just short.
