Red House Painters - Have You Forgotten?

Does this song resonate with anyone on here? I prefer the original version from their album versus the version on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack. It's pretty melancholy and nostalgic and has great imagery. It's just a simple acoustic guitar lick with a little steel guitar accompanying near the end. shite hits home hard for me with the simple question of the chorus. For me, most times the answer is yes.

It's a nice song, I like it. Make Like Paper has always resonated more with me, from that album. Something about that crushing, cathartic guitar in that song gets me.

Thanks bud. Listening to your suggestion now. 12 minutes!

Apparently the 5 minute guitar solo in that song got him kicked off his label

Good song and makes me long for the days when he wrote stuff like that and "Carry Me Ohio" instead of the rambling, obnoxious stuff he's been doing lately.

Yes. RHP are one of my all time favorite bands.

Glad I'm not alone. RHP isn't even one of my favorites. I like them a lot but not nearly as much as some other artists. But this song found me at a formative time in college and I just rediscovered it after forgetting about it for a few years. I'll be damned if it doesn't completely consume me every time i listen to it.

I know what you mean. His recent stream-of-conscience way of writing lyrics is pretty annoying and difficult for me to listen to.
