I'm taking the family to South Lake Tahoe from July 7-12, staying at Lake Tahoe Marriott Lodge. Only thing I have plan is renting a boat for the day, some hiking, jet skis. We don't gamble! My kids are game for anything, 11y old girl, 17y old boy. Will be in San Francisco for 5 days on the back end. Thanks in advance any suggestions will be appreciated.
San Francisco, we've been there and done that, but still a great city to visit.

You could check out Carson City (or is it Virginia City?) that's kind of close by car. Old mining town. There used to be a mine tour.

We've been to South Lake Tahoe the past two summers(same time you are going).
Read my post from another Tahoe thread on here earlier this month...

Where you are gonna be staying at is in the PERFECT location imo. You can walk a few steps out of your hotel over to Heavenly Village and that whole little area to check out shops, restaurants, etc. You can also easily walk to one of the beach areas of the lake(it's a private beach so you have to pay a small fee to access the beach...unless your hotel can give you free passes). On that beach area you can rent SUPs, kayaks, etc. I HIGHLY recommend taking a few hours to just drive around the entire lake. Great way to find something you might want to check out later and you get some amazing views of the lake(and of some of the breathtaking homes people have along the lake).
There is a cool little pizza place in Heavenly village...good pizza and awesome place to relax with
a drink in the evening (esp if they have live music playing on the patio)....name of the place is Base Camp Pizza.
ETA: You can go white water rafting in Truckee. They have companies that will come pick you up from your hotel to go rafting.

Have fun!
Drive carefully around the lake....there are some scary parts of the road going around the lake...such as this...
That is near Emerald Bay. The picture doesn't show it well enough...but there are parts of that road where BOTH sides have basically no shoulder and just drop off to rocks/treetops below.
