The overall district rating for St. Tammany Parish, where Mandeville and Covington are located, is located is 122.8, and 44% of schools in the district earned an "A" rating.

6) Plaquemines Parish District Rating: 103

Schools in this district were given a score of 123 by the state and 43% of the schools earned an "A" rating.

7) Orleans Parish School District: 102.225

While only 7.5% of schools in the greater New Orleans area have earned an "A" ranking, the Orleans Parish School district has a number of the best schools in the state, catapulting the district to #7 on this list.

8) Livingston Parish School District: 99.05

Located in the Livingston Parish school district, which earned a state ranking of 117.4 and is home to 19 schools with an “A” rating.

9) Allen Parish School District: 97

A small district north of Lake Charles, 45% of the schools here earned an "A" rating from the state.

10) St. Bernard Parish School District: 93.1

This district which includes Chalmette
