I'm not defending the terrible umps in anyway. I'm just trying to point out the CBS strike zone isn't accurate because it is based on VERY BAD science.
The current box can point out ump inconsistency but in no way is an accurate depiction of the real strike zone.
Which reminds me of another error. There is no way the CBS box can located a pitch over the actual strike zone. The camera doesn't have an accurate idea where the ball is in reference to the line between the pitching rubber and home plate as the pitch passes over home plate. Just because the catcher catches the ball low and out side doesn't mean it was low an outside as it crossed the plate.
