The effects comments are dead on. I don't know how, but Jurrasic Park cgi is better than 95% of the shite that comes out today. Spielberg really channeled Jaws in this one. Either the effects were way too expensive or he just lerned his lesson on Jaws…. Less is more.

I passed up seeing this movie in a theater as kid to go see Home Alone 2 or something similar (can't really remember). Everyone said you have to see it in a theater because it was genuinely terrifying and awe inspiring at the same time. One of the bigger movie going mistakes of my life.

Even watching on home video as s kid, the TRex scene had so much building tension, fright, and then payoff.

It also became one of the most rewatchsble movies ever made and the true definition blockbuster. Amazingly Spielberg has another half dozen or more movies on the same level as Jurrasic Park, dude truly is the greatest director on history.
