Well yeah, there are always exceptions to the rule. Like I said, my kids play rec and do a few tournaments, then all-stars. I am anti travel ball...but I am not going to sit here and act like there's not a difference in the level of competition. There just is, and it's noticeable. Most of those people are wasting $ and coming close to selling their souls...some genuinely want better competition, some think it's the best path to the majors, and some (I'd say most) do it for social reasons. Either way, I think there are more advantages to a kid playing multiple sports then year long travel ball.
