I always loved going fishing with the old man to old River in the 1970's LA traveler with 50 hp Mercury. That was the thing back then.
We use to fish, then jump off the rafts to swim, and catch fish in the morning or evening.
Then they had worm pouring parties the night before and I would get to get a sip of my dads Miller ponies. Wouldn't miss that for anything.
One day I was in the boat and dad dropped me off to get something to drink at the camp at Old River.
I accidentally poured powered milk into my glass and I couldn't go back fishing until I drank that junk.
That almost ruined the experience.
Still miss the guy that blocked to road to the camp with his wheel chair until you gave him a beer.
Bob Scarce was still full of the juice and made his rounds to the group get togethers at Old River.
He could talk some stuff.
