As always, the OT is my most trusted source of information. I am looking to purchase a house which will require the driveway being extended and having a fence installed. Before I write the check, I want to know what the projected expense would be for these two necessary projects. Please give me recs on people i can get quotes from. Not looking to hire people from the front doorstep of lowe's so please spare me that response.

Ok with the concrete but if you cant build a privacy fence then just get a dress and call yourself Carroll.

It is a lot easier than one would think.

But how long does the fence need to be? I used to do fencing for a while, and the established fencing company would price their fences around $15 or more a linear foot. They gave an estimate for this one guy for $5000 for a fence, plus they lied to him about how long the fence actually was (added an extra 100 ft on there). My estimate came out to be $3600 or so but the guy ended up doing it himself.

The crazy thing was that most of his neighbors already went with them and they all got ripped off. Even with my lower bid, I would of been making out pretty good.

So make sure you measure how long your fence needs to be and make sure they don't screw you over on it.

I always tried to bid around $10-12 a ft, but again my was usually on the lower side. Also wood fences look like shite after a year, so if you plan on living there for a while, try and stain them or paint it 6 months or so after they install it.

I would probably go with a vinyl fence. 110 ft of fencing, one double gate, 12ft wide, another small gate about 5 feet wide.

I don't doubt that it's easier than one would think, but I would need it up very quickly due to my dog, and would already be very busy with moving. I don't mind paying for convenience
