A lot depends on your age, similar to the motorcycle riders. Seems like when I was in my teens and early 20's, I had soft tops and bikini tops on my jeeps. Bikini tops were great, but, only drove those when there wasn't large rain possibility. But, the jeeps and Broncos were always a 2nd vehicle, that made a huge difference.
Also, remember with soft stuff, you can't lock up anything like guns, or a woman's purse, etc.

You can buy locking compartments that mount under the seat or in the cargo area that are fully secure, if you insist on keeping valuables in a jeep.

Amen to all of this. First time I ever removed the soft top for the bikini top and reinstalled the soft top, I found out real quick that you better reinstall that soft top when it's warm outside. I never had much of a problem with the soft top when it was raining since I always kept a full set of rain gear under the back seat of my CJ 5.
