It's not a hard concept to grasp.
An obese body has created more adipose cells because they're storing calories that a fit person doesn't need to store. When that same obese person loses weight, those adipose cells don't disappear, they just aren't being used. As soon as your body has more calories than it needs, those adipose cells will be activated. The more adipose cells you have, the easier you will gain weight by adding fat.
