Found it - Looks like it does apply to LSU (and many other places), but only for two years.

These two bulletins together basically show that most admission events are taxable (non-profits still look to be excluded in some respects, but not in others).

Local School Events

Taxability of Admissions to Places of Amusement,
Athletic Entertainment, and Recreational Events
