Read this thread up to the present. Someone mentioned the Parker Meridien and their Burger Joint. I opened and worked at the first free standing one, on 8th btw 5th and 6th. Same burgers, slightly cheaper, and has a bar.
Hotel wise, I'll add the Westin on 42 just off of 3rd. Close to GCS and has a great hotel bar, LCL.
I agree that the more south you are in the city, the more fun. But if you find yourself on the UES, I work at the Supply House on 2nd btw 85 and 86. Be an LSU fan and I'll get you a round.
