Dale's teams tailed off after Shaq and had a couple of poor seasons. That huge UK comeback (I was there ) may have been about the same time. Randy Livingston never panned out (injuries, not talent) so we never really got to see the Randy and Ronnie backcourt that would have been incredible.
Dale struggled, then the NCAA dropped the hammer on him. Enter Brady, who wasn't the salesman Dale was, and there you have it.
The crowds showed up for Brady during his big runs in 2000 and 2006/06. That stretch run in 2000 was great.
