I'm not a big baseball fan, but I'm going to try to get into it this year, which brings me to my question...

Should I wait until March 29 for The Show 16 or go ahead and forget waiting and get 15. Is 16 supposed to be vastly improved or just basically a roster update?

They are revamping a bunch of things in 16. With that said, if you can find a real cheap copy of '15, I'd snag it just to get acclimated with the game. MLB The Show introduced year to year saves between '14-'15, so any progress you make in Franchise or Road To The Show (MyPlayer), you can actually transfer over to '16.

I'd wait. Pre-order it to get the most value and go from there. This game is the reason I went with ps4 over xbone and I've enjoyed it to the max.

16 will be worth it

I hope one of those things is the online play. They just cannot get that right.

If he has never touched MLB The Show, he would be best served to pick up '15. Hell, he may even be able to redbox it.

Same. I haven't played 15 in awhile, but it's the sole reason I bought a ps4.

The matchmaking is terrible. They'll match someone who has played 300 games with a guy who picked up the game 2 hours ago

I agree if he's willing to spend that money for just about a months worth of use

Its always been the choppiness of online play that turned me off. Its just never been smooth.

This. The timing of the pitch meter has to be exact and the game in the past had some serious lag.

It's a bit better now with QUICK COUNTS games.
That way the servers aren't as clogged cuz those games take easily 50%+ less time

Not sure if this really belongs in this thread but I picked up 14 on release date and I play fairly often but not as often as I'd like. I play with the Cardinals and trade Jon Jay and Matt Adams for Pujols 6 games into my franchise's original season (couldn't believe they accepted that one) and am hell bent on breaking the all time HR record with Albert before I get a new one. I'm at 604 right now and yea, it's gonna take a while longer and his skills may deteriorate to the point I can't but it's something I've always wanted to do and I'll either do it or never buy another baseball game again

I get the game every year but never see the improvements I want. The in game stuff is great but there is absolutely nothing to do outside of that. They have mastered that part but refuse to add fun things like good contract negotiations, cut scenes, dugout talk, talking with coaches and gms or anything of that sort. Will never hnderstand why

In a yearly release you can't have the best of both worlds

NBA 2k doesn't seem to have that problem. They have just about everything that happens in real life in that damn game

2K gets plenty of gameplay complaints and if you think the my career crap they put out this year was satisfactory then I don't know what to tell you

If anyone thinks that having literally 9 "storyline" cut scenes between 8 games is groundbreaking, then they don't need to be playing sports games. 99% of the sports gaming community could give a shite less about story lines so long as the on field product is up to par.

For those who are on the fence about getting MLB The Show '16, they've already started releasing information and when I get home today, I will link a few things and start an official MLB 16 The Show Thread with the rest of the info that has been released.
