Interesting. If our designated kicker is doing nothing more than kicking to the 15 yard line then why not work with a defensive player who can do the same. I see the obvious merit. What would be the downside assuming someone could provide, at the very least, equal kickoff quality?

How about we recognize the "kick short pin deep" strategy doesn't work because our cover team sucks and then just unleash Cameron's howitzer of a leg and let the kid put it through the endzone, into the portal, and crash land it into the Zatarin's jambalaya vendor?
