She said on the special that she didn't go in his room after his junior year because she didn't want to violate his privacy. She said she thought she was doing the right thing. OP doesn't have his facts straight.

And therein lies the problem. If you live under my roof... you have no privacy. Not blaming her for what the kid did, but she isn't getting the Parent of the Year award either.

There is no right to privacy if a person is under 18 and living in my house. She surely wasn't parenting very well.
