Great staff. But it will never be equaled because of modern-day baseball. Earl was throwing those guys until their arms fell off and he wasn't using his bullpen. Today you have pitch counts, situational relievers, and 5-man rotations. The best starters these days get 30 starts and many of them don't go past the 7th. How many innings and starts did the Orioles get?

Yup. The game is way different today. Back then you had a 4 man rotation and starters weren't pulled after just 5 or so innings like today's pussy starters are. Earl as did every manager back then let their starters go 8-9 innings all the time. The complete game is a thing of the past. Managers are under way more pressure to win in today's game.
