How about we just hold players accountable and make them practice shooting free throws?
But I will play along. If you are going to give a coach the choice, and he chooses not to shoot the ft's on a non shooting foul, they turn the ball over to the other team. They don't get possession of the ball. If its a shooting foul, then they get possession if they choose not to shoot.
