I have not found a pill that claims to protect against Ticks which are a much bigger threat than fleas. Until then I will keep giving a topical like frontline. I will also spray ultraguard on him in the bad months and when I know we will be in the woods.

Use either Nexgard or Bravecto- Both are oral meds for fleas and ticks, Bravecto will last for 3 months with one dose, but Nexgard has a slightly increased spectrum against ticks and is monthly. Both work well.
