Whst is the price point for a high end Taylor?
Well - I used a little weasel language - I meant "for me" -
Obviously, taking vintage out, because collectors have just lost it in this area - new Taylors can run up to $6k, $7k or more, and Martins even more. For me, the break point on an electric guitar is about $1200 to $1500 when you start talking about serious money, and for acoustics it is about another $500 or so - again, for me, about $2,000 is what I wish I had to spend on a new acoustic, and it would very likely be Taylor GS of some variety.
And, too much past $2000 or so, you're paying for exotic woods in the body and on the fingerboard - although I suppose they have feature sets too that add cost at the higher end. I mean, Martin and Taylor have an overwhelming number of models.
I also agree on Guild when they were in Westerly versus Corona. I'm not familiar at all with their post-Corona production, either in Tacoma, New Hartford or Oxnard (current).
