I'm not going to debate it, but it's more of an attitude that we put millions of dollars into athletics while the university crumbles around the athletic program. Couldn't those boosters also give some money back to the university?

I understand TAF and the university budget are completely different, but I just don't like how we throw millions of dollars at sports but let academics go by the wayside.

The same boosters who can / are footing the bills at this level are the VERY SAME biggest philanthropic donors to the university writ large.

These guys and gals give multiple millions to the university academic side as well.

I, personally, donate to causes that have meaning to me. But, I also spend money on things that are entertaining to me. i do NOT require that the "important" things be PERFECT before I pay out to "frivolous" entertainment items.

The LSU Athletic Department is one of the only profitable departments at the school...but that is in jeopardy with the football program in decline...so a private booster invests millions on what he enjoys in life, and it also gives the football program and the athletic department new life. So what if the Booster just kicked in the $20M to the school, and ignored the issues with the declining football program. Well the $20M is a small drop in the bucket for the overall school financial issues, and then you start losing money in the athletic department because people have soured on the football program.......does that make more sense?

Also, the Athletic department DOES give to the school......this is pretty ignorant...but you will have those out there that have zero interest in sports just look at this blindly and talk about how messed up our priorities are........never fails.
