It's good that you have had some time to know that he wouldn't be here for eternity. I was only 18 years old when my dad passed, but he had health issues a few years earlier and I guess I had always in the back of my mind tried to prepare myself for the worst. The day he passed was completely sudden, he was at work and called home to tell my mom he was on his way driving himself to the hospital, but he pulled over on the side of the road and passed away before arriving.

Memories will always be there, and be thankful that you have had some time to make peace and prepare.
