My philosophy is that staying comfortably miserable is the worst way to live, and tons of people do it. It's just fear of the unknown. But what you do know, you don't like your current job, sounds awful. Take a chance, what's the worst that can happen? You don't like this job either? Well it's not a life sentence, if you made a move like that and didn't like it, I can't imagine the company blaming you for leaving and moving back home.

Take chances, usually when you follow your heart and put yourself out there rather than stay stagnant and unhappy simply because you've become comfortable in the lifestyle, you don't regret it.
