Great backs make lineman look better and great lineman make backs look better. Unfair and impossible to judge until they are at the next level and apart from each other... Take Alan Faneca, arguably the best offensive lineman from LSU over the last 25 years. Can you name the famous running backs that he made great? No? Let me help you, Harvey Williams was about as good as it got during Faneca's jr and sr years - and Harvey never made it to a level of distinction though he did manage a few years in the NFL. Faneca did not make Harvey better and Harvey did not make Alan better. What's happening now is that we have too many ex jocks wearing $800 suits and $250 ties who have to maintain self respect by analyzing to death a game that isn't about anything more than blocking and tackling. As a result there are dozens of sycophantic media types who sniff jocks and think more highly of themselves as a result. They all need something to say and they have to come up with some controversial insight so that the other sycophants can then argue or confirm the latest BS dribbling to fall from their up top orifice... which usually stinks more and has less meaning than the shite that falls out of their down low orifice. Or, as Shakespeare said, "A lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing..."

Allen Faneca didn't have a sr. year, and blocked for Kevin Faulk for his last 2 years at LSU.
