re: Great Cracked article about why current movies seem to fall short

Unsurprisingly, I agree with almost every word of the article.
Storytelling and character development are virtually dead in modern cinema. Sure, there are occasional gems - limiting it to science fiction films, Moon, Interstellar, About Time, Ex Machina - there are folks out there really trying.
But, other than Interstellar (and only because of Nolan) - none of those films seemed to have been promoted all that much - I did see trailers for Ex Machina, but I found out about Moon and About Time on this board (and thank G-d for it).
But, I sure as hell can't get away from the hype of the next: comic book, FF, Jurassic whatever, (not really) Star Trek, Transformers schlock is about to drop - THOSE I absolutely know about way in advance.
