Here's what I know: Japan, India and China, all kick the American's butt in math. They teach traditional math.

The engineers, scientists and mathematicians who have developed the world's great technologies, laws of science and buildings all learned traditional math.

Why is the U.S. being kicked around? Because this generation expects things to happen right away and won't put in the time to study. There is no genetic predisposition to learning that Indians and Japanese have over Americans. They push their kids hard to learn. The vast majority here don't. It's as simple as that.
