I teach World Geography and Civics. Several years ago while studying the continent of Africa, I had a white female student pronounce "Nigeria" as if it had 2 g's. It was hilarious and the mixed culture classroom all laughed.
This was pre-Obama...I don't think we'd get the same reaction today.
