Are you saying that every one of Mike's caretakers from 1935-2013 were idiots? They didn't have any problem getting Mike into his travel cage to circle the stadium before games.

They cattle prodded him until relatively recently.
I don't think doctors were idiots in the 1950's that put leaches on people to help with blood diseases or lobotomized people with mental illness. That was accepted practice. shite changes as we evolve as a society and learn more about this world.
