quote:No need to take the whole safe. Any burglar going into a house knowing there is a safe will bring a long pry bar. If the safe is not bolted down, they will lay it on its back to get the leverage and weight to pry the door open.
Not impossible, but add 42 guns to that, and they're going to be a while getting that safe out the door.
Best thing to do is keep it hidden from guests and bolt it down in the corner of a room with the hinges away from the adjacent wall. This will leave very little room for prying the door open.
For best fire safety, have it on an exterior wall where the fire is coolest, and preferably near the front of the house where firemen will get to the fire first with the hose.
