I think Rafa's case is unique because of his racquet head speed and swing. He uses a pretty light racquet and the fact that he can whip that thing around like a windshield wiper and control it at all is amazing. I am not surprised the shot has been off a bit. The biggest thing with him this year is no depth. I think it's tough for him to flatten out the forehand the way he can with his backhand. Some people think he needs to dump the hollow, light racquet, but to me that would take away his bread and butter of a zillion RPMs on the forehand.

I don't think Fed's forehand has declined much. He has always had shank problems on the backhand. The bigger racquet has definitely helped the backhand. I think he actually sprays the forehand more with it and has less control, but he has more easy power. There is some debate about whether it has helped the serve.

What would be the debate? He's been serving incredibly.
