As far as the mention of Jimmy Miller/Charlie Watts.... great point.
The Stones were a fairly loose group, sometimes songs took place with whoever was there. Sometimes Richards played bass, sometimes he played all guitars. If everyone was in the house, Charlie would be on the kit.
With Jagger, Richards, and the various leads, there isn't a helluva lot of room for Charlie.
