I agree with you. At NSU now, almost everyone on the Drumline is a Percussion or Music major, so they don't go out together or get together and drink and hack. But, they are good percussionists, as you said about LSU. More focused on their Music, Percussion, or Performance Degree's. Every time we visit Mr. Green always says, that its just not the same anymore. Change is good though. What Mr. Green meant was the drumline doesn't get together outside of classes and hack away and "Bond" like we did.

Back when I was on the Line at NSU, there were very few majors in percussion or music. So it was a bunch of Drumline Jocks who practiced every day of the week for 3 hours and later in the evening we would all get together and practice while drinking. We would end up going out to clubs later on. We had a routine.

To Percussionists of all flavors may we have fun!!!

Oh and the best fight sound ever is LSU's...
