Hammond High Magnet School Performance Score: D

Hammond Magnet is essentially 2 schools. While the IB portion of the school is excelling (only a small portion of the school population) as a whole the school is still a D school and their students are still elidgible for the voucher program. Seems like they have done a great job focusing on the elite few students but are still failing the majority. It all looks good in the newspaper that they are succeding at a high level with the IB program but no one ever mentions that they are almost failing as a school as a whole. If you look at the numbers school performance actually declined almost 1% from 2012-13-2013-14.
The IB program as a single entity is great but its a smokescreen to hide the overall failure of the school.

Now that sounds more realistic. Still not good that Hammond cant get more production out of those kids on the field. They have talent, it just needs to be exposed.

It grew by over 100% from last years numbers.

In addition to the IB program, the school is producing programs like Torbotics, nursing, engineering, sports medicine and pharmacy. Its giving kids real life look at what their college major could be. To just completely dismiss it is pretty stupid.
