I'm dismissing them because they lost 15 starters and don't have elite talent to start with. Despite what you think...this is the reason they have the past they have. Until they can start hauling in top 10 recruiting classes......the stars will align for them only ever so often, and it won't be frequent. Not only do they need a lot of returning, experienced starters, but they need help from other teams with elite talent being down. This happened last year with State, and with both LSU, Auburn, and to a degree Texas A&M....even though I certainly don't have A&M as elite....they do have much better talent than State.

They haven't had a top 20 recruiting class in years. Yet something happened that brought them to 10 wins last year... Mullen has done a pretty good job as far as getting this team where it is.... Are they a top 20 team??? NO... Will they finish in the bottom half of the West??? Hard to say... But they are NOT the whipping child of teams like they used to be....

A & M and LSU as of right now are NOT elite... AU really isn't either by the way last year finished for them....The ONLY elite team in the SEC is Bama and they may even be down a notch or two this year.... To be honest THIS may be the year that ZERO teams from the SEC will make the playoff... They will beat each other up.....
