Last year the WR position was wide open. Dural was the leading returner with 7 career catches. The WRs had 8 total career catches. Quinn became a starter as a true. He must have shown the coaches something. He just didn't perform and I hope those two dropped passes are not what he is remembered for at LSU. In the spring game he looked to be the 5th WR after Dural, Chi, Chark, and Diarse. Now he has Johnson, Jazz, and Dillon to deal with plus perhaps Jackson some.
I think they let him hold for XPs and FGs in the spring plus his return duties. Obviously, things can change. I'll say that whenever he gets a chance at WR he better make plays but that is true of all the WRs.

One of my good friends who went to high school with Justin Vincent at Barbe seen JV at the casino in lake Charles and asked him about Quinn. JV told him that Quinn is kinda struggling geting off the line. Word for word " he's just getting beat". So take it for what it's worth.

For those who saw him play in HS, wasn't he more of a downfield threat than slot guy??
I know Dural was entrenched after week 1 in the deep routes and the urge by many was to assume he'd be slot because of the lame Welker tag, but with his track speed I think he has potential to move over for Dural after this year along with Chark. Catching long balls over the shoulder is not the same skill set as turning at the sticks and snagging one in between the numbers, where he struggled painfully last year.
Given all of the competition at slot, he may be out of time there. I could see him disappearing this year and popping up as a legit deep threat in 2016 if he stays with it (and if Chark doesn't pass him up as well).

I just hope Trey can mentally shake the drops. Pass-catching can be a very mental thing after you drop a pass or two in key situations. Hopefully, he will be given the chance to prove himself. The ole saying "remember jacob hester fumbled his first carry", comes to mind.
