It's really unfair to compare the two. The Terminator was made on a paper thin budget and became the surprise hit of 1984. Terminator 2 was the most expensive movie ever made at that time and was also one of the most anticipated films of the 1991 summer movie season. I have to pretty much agree with this...

however, I must say that I mentioned to my wife when I turned in on SYFY the other night and watched T2 for about ten minutes, that I can still remember being 11 years old and my dad took me to see this at a movie theater in Houston that had a balcony.
It still stands as one of the most memorable movie experiences of my life, because being 11 I thought the theater was sooo cool and the movie was mind blowing awesome and still feel that way to this day when I turn it on at 35
