This same issue came up in 05-06. Googly it. Few articles about it are floatin around.

I'm 36, and I remember. Katrina opened up that season. There was a 4-5 game stretch in the middle of that season where all the games were at home. And walking down Nicholson, from Burbank, towards Alex Box Stadium was like walking through an LSU orientated civil war reenactment. (see 4 posts above)

Lift kits, roll bars, LSU confederate flags, and Hank Williams Jr being played at every other tailgate along that walk. THe story died down, and the flags went away.

People want to be contrarian, and if this story is still kicking come football season, I expect to see the same thing again.

I remember this too.

A group of black students that relocated after Katrina threw bitch fits over the flag. They were all over the news.

They used the "racist white people fly the racist flag but come to watch black players play in the game" bullshite. Some of the football players agreed with them, but they didn't stop playing.
