Let's put it another way. Your entire argument is predicated on the difficulty of ice skating at that required level to play hockey.

I'd bet there are more people in the world that can ice skate at that level than there are people that can twist and contort their bodies at the level required to be a gymnast. Or can swim at the level required to play water polo. Or can propel themselves in the air on a fiberglass pole to pole vault 17 feet.

No, my entire argument isnt just skating. Its just the most glaring and obvious one.

Maybe, maybe not. You are still missing the point though.

Its not surprising that many people, especially southerners haven't the faintest clue. I played baseball, football, hockey and soccer growing up through HS and a little lacrosse. Played at a very high level in hockey.

There is no question that it takes much more athleticism to play hockey than it does to play the other three sports I played. It wasnt even close. i admit that I dont know what basketball would have been like comparatively.
