I just watched it today and what caught my attention was the High Sparrow said it would be a trial of the seven with seven judges just like before the Conquest ie before the Targaryens. I just wonder if it was the Targaryens who brought trial by combat or what.
The only reason it sticks in my mind is because of how descriptive he got about it which makes me think there will be no other form of trial.

Also, I wonder what exactly are the advantages of confessing in order to be granted the "Mother's Mercy."
