Basing it off of the fact that he never had to make more than a couple of throws where the receiver wasn't 10 yards open.
Also basing it off of the fact that his completion percentage drops to ~55% when throwing to his second read.
Also basing it off of the fact that Oregon QBs have sucked arse in the NFL.
I think Tennessee ownership wanted Mariota (not coaching) because he's not really the type of QB that Whisenhunt prefers.
There have been plenty of examples of players picked in the top 5 that have been train wrecks. Then people after the fact said they should've known better because all of the red flags were there. This will be one of those cases.

Mariota had one of the best down field throw percentages in cfb. Can you back any of this drivel up?
