Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Marco Verratti for the PSG player to join the Bernabéu club, according to Sky Sports Italia. The midfielder will sign for seven million euros a season, according to the broadcaster, but it was not specified how long his contract will be.
Although terms have apparently been agreed with the player, it remains to be seen what PSG will make of a potential approach: the Ligue 1 champions are certainly unlikely to make it easy for the Real board. The former Pescara player and Italy international is a fundamental piece of the Parisian club's project under Sheikh Nasser Al-Khelaifi and if he prevents a transfer it won't be the first time the PSG owner has vetoed a summer move.
Sky reported that any move for Verratti will cost 50 million euros. A lot depends on what incoming Real Madrid manager Rafa Benítez sees as his squad priorities this summer, but several reports suggest that the midfielder is an admirer of the Spanish coach.
