The two things I wish I was taught when I started playing that I have since learned:
The hands need to beat the club head to the ball on every shot (lag) and the right elbow needs to rotate externally so that the arms and shoulders stay connected.
Agree with the other guys... It's not "hitting down" on the ball, it's staying down through impact... Maintaining spine angle. If your hands are ahead of the club head, and you maintain spine angle, the down and through impact will take care of itself.
