Does it make any sound when the second hand is moving? Does the second hand sweep when it moves or does it "tick" to each second? These can be a clue as to whether it is real or not but serial number is necessary too.

I love how someone asks a simple question like, how much is this worth. And most of the replies are about selling a gift, needing cash, how to tell if it fake, etc.

This hasn't been the case in many many years. The chinese have been able to produce really convincing movements that move exactly like a real one would. Sometimes it's hard for me to even tell.
