Exactly what I was thinking. Another thing... Where... were... their...shortswords. A good tactician knows that the spear is good for long range attacks, so you abandon them when they get past your spears. And draw your shortswords. That's what the Romans did. Their shortsword was called a Gladius.

Where was morale in this melee? The Sons of the Harpy were hired thugs. Hired thugs don't fight to the last man. They run the frick away. The Unsullied do fight to the last man.

Apparently the Unsullied only keep their short swords on hand so people can cut off their nipples in a show of discipline.
