Yall may not have been aware of it, but there was massive flooding and death in Uttarakhand 2013 in the region due to monsoon rains.
My driver was from Himachal Pradesh. He emailed me the day before the earthquake and I assume he's fine from the reports.
Terrible situation. I decided not to do Kathmandu with our limited time but wish I had more time to do so. I hope they didn't lose too much of their cultural landmarks. Tourism is about it for that area to help them recover. I see they lost the tower, which was a UNESCO site.
