was said sort of tongue in cheek because there are some fence post setting purists that think that is a terrible thing to do because it makes a concrete "shoe" that constantly holds water and decreases the life of the fence post and you might have to replace it in 30 yrs. instead of 31
all wooden fence posts will eventually rot at the ground level
